"Notice that autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature" - Friedrich Nietzche
Time to wake up Billy Joe! September's ending, summer has ebbed away, and fall has slowly taken it's place.
Imagine actually sleeping through the whole summer (and through Malta's heatwaves) and then waking up to find yourself somewhere (other than Malta) where fall wows you (but I have nothing against Malta). Personally I'd never appreciated or even cared about fall until I lived through it in Ireland. Nowadays, every time it comes around, I can't help thinking of the beauty it brings with it, both literally and metaphorically:
Fall
Find someone who brings colour to your life and
Almost makes you forget that your beloved
Leaves have fallen, one by one, as you stand
Learning to love yourself now you're colourless.
Although fall represents the start of Uni, may you not forget that it also signifies new beginnings, letting go of old baggage, and embracing what's to come.
What's your favourite season, reader?
