Wanderlust on the Wall: 5 Places We are All Dying to Visit and Why

"Travel - the best way to be lost and found all at the same time" - Brenna Smith

Things are finally looking hopeful, *touch wood*. Bars and restaurants are now back in business and airports are about to open their doors after a long three months. For those who love to travel, this either gives rise to the urge of booking a holiday instantly, or to the excitement of planning where to visit when it is even safer. Here are 5 places we are all looking forward to being able to visit:

1. Greece

After such mentally-demanding times (being stuck indoors for 3 months, a month of which was ultra-stressful because of exams), all you probably want is to destress by:

  • laying by the beach,

  • soaking up some sun,

  • whilst sippin' some cocktails

I hear you sister/brother. 🤷‍♀️

I mean you can totally do this in Malta, but if you'd like to escape to a place other than your home country, Greece not only provides you with this opportunity, but also with that of enriching you with its distinctive culture and history.

Also, I heard Greece is cutting the cost of flights to the country in light of the Covid-19 situation!

2. Amalfi Coast

Another summery destination is the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Once we are able to, Italy is always a good place to visit. Why? Because of pasta, pizza, and ice cream, of course. But the Amalfi Coast is also very picturesque, giving you the chance to channel your inner photographer and to instantly get your insta feed all nice and aesthetic. Alternatively, it would also be a good place to forget technology even exists and to just enjoy your very pretty surroundings.

(N.B.: visited, approved, and recommended by Casey!)

3. Ireland

Now Ireland is very close to my heart, (so this one is visited, approved, and recommended by me) and I will probably never get tired of visiting it, but I will try not to be too biased.

Let me paint you a picture instead:

  • you and your friends on a road trip, witnessing all the beautiful greenery,

  • stopping to eat some typical Irish food,

  • visiting the Cliffs of Moher,

  • ending the day in an Irish bar - listening to live Irish music and perhaps even watching some Irish dancing

  • all of the above with a pint of Guinness in hand

Not bad at all, huh? And this is not even taking St. Patrick's Day into consideration...☘

4. Slovenia

I don't know about you, but when I think of Slovenia, what comes to mind is Lake Bled, how beautiful it is, and how I would love to row-row-row my canoe along it. With also very beautiful tourist attractions like Lake Jasna and Lake Bohinj, Slovenia is another picturesque destination worth visiting.

5. The Alps

Now if you're fed up with Malta's warm weather, thinking about visiting the Alps might be a good idea. And while wearing the Covid-19 mask would be annoying in other places, here it might actually be a godsend, because it could aid in keeping you warm. Jokes aside, I'm pretty sure visiting the Alps would make for an amazing, indelible experience.

Bonus! - Renting an island in the Philippines

How cool, right?! Yep, you can totally have an island all to yourself, all you need to do is book it on airbnb. I would feel like the queen of the world.

Let's hope we'll be able to visit at least one of these destinations in the near future (fingers crossed). Which places are you dying to visit, reader?
